Derry & Winston Bridges

Derry Road West Pedestrian Bridge
These bridge renovation art projects in Mississauga, executed in collaboration with the talented team at Bau and Cos Studio and featuring the versatile Daycora panels provided by Plas-Tech Inc., are a testament to the power of creativity and engineering excellence.

Recognized by the City of Mississauga for their innovative approach, Bau and Cos Studio transformed the bridge into a vibrant public art installation. Trendy graphical art was applied to clear polycarbonate laminated panels, creating a striking visual effect that enhances the urban landscape.

Our expertise played a crucial role in the project’s success. We provided a comprehensive hardware solution, including sign and sealed engineered shop drawings, ensuring the panels were securely mounted without direct fastening to the existing steel structure. This was achieved using custom stainless steel brackets and banding, which offered a secure and minimalistic installation method that preserved the bridge’s structural integrity.
To protect the artwork and ensure its longevity, the panels were laminated with an anti-graffiti film. This added layer of protection ensures that the vibrant graphics will remain pristine, enhancing the beauty of the city’s infrastructure for years to come.
We are proud to have been part of this project, blending art and engineering to create a unique and lasting impact on Mississauga’s public spaces. Our collaboration with Bau and Cos Studio and the City of Mississauga exemplifies our commitment to innovation and excellence in every project we undertake. Stay tuned for more exciting projects as we continue to bring art and technology together to transform urban environments.
